Essential Functions : This position will be part of the National Mesothelioma Virtual Bank (NMVB) and will be an Informatician – assembling and validating the common data elements (CDE) and creating a metadata dictionary along with relationship of different types of datasets to build the database. The Senior Research Scientist will develop a concise manual of operation that describes the overall structure and functioning of the tumor banking projects as well as the workflow for current and future collaboration sites for specimen collection, annotation, and distribution. We need this candidate to monitor the overall data quality of patients enrolled in tumor bank database and ensure the highest quality of data capturing from all collection sites. This position will also be responsible for writing grant proposals that fund the biobanking operations, writing manuscripts for publication, conducting informatics research, and coordination.
Physical Effort Position is largely sedentary, but duties will involve frequent moving within the department when in office and between buildings. May require outside travel to meetings.
