The Biobank of the South Galicia Health Research Institute (IISGS) directed by scientist and doctor Susana Teijeira Bautista, has exceeded 40,000 samples. This figure was reached thanks to the voluntary and altruistic donation made by some patients whose will they express to the doctor who is treating them.
The Biobank of the Álvaro Cunqueiro de Vigo Hospital increased its research resources in the first quarter of the year with eight new collections (in addition to the existing 10) that it makes available to the scientific community for its biomedical research work”.
